JENNIFER SPRATT

Jen Spratt is the Founder & Principal Designer for JLS Designs. Jen is the creator of JLS Designs’ unique trademark formula and takes a hands-on approach to each project. A 16-year veteran in the industry, Jen has contributed to the works of prominent Denver firms, including Material Bespoke Stone & Design, Ruggles Mabe Studio, and Mandil, Inc. 

Her unique style & talent has garnered numerous publications, to include Colorado Homes & Lifestyles (Multiple Editions), Mountain Living and Luxe Interiors & Design Colorado Edition (Multiple Editions). She served as Executive Director for the ICAARM Newman Awards (Institute of Classical Architecture & Art) from 2013 to 2015 and is currently a candidate for 2024 “Who’s Who in America” by Marquis Who’s Who.

Jen got her start working side by side with her Dad at his local wholesale flooring company, and her passion for the craft led to her formal education at The Art Institute of Colorado where she acquired her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Interior Design. She currently lives in Colorado with her Husband, Brian and their dog, Olive. They enjoy everything life has to offer: traveling, cooking and spending time with their friends and family.

PRINCIPAL Designer

Joan Allen

Joan Allen has been a practicing interior designer since 2009. Her experience spans many facets of the design field, including tenant improvement, corporate office, hospitality, multi- family, and high-end residential design. Joan has been part of the JLS team since 2020 and continues to grow her responsibilities and expertise within the industry. Joan’s passion lies within the details; analyzing plans from different perspectives to find solutions to benefit the design and the client.

Joan’s education includes a Bachelor of Fine Arts; with a focus in art history and painting, in addition to a Bachelor of Applied Human Sciences for interior design and a minor in Construction Management from Colorado State University. Her pursuit and dedication to education continued with the receipt of the NCIDQ licensure in the fall of 2020. Joan’s love of art, form, and color; combined with the attention to construction details and architectural forms have given her a unique presence in the design field.

Outside of interior design, Joan enjoys time with her family, which includes her husband, daughter and two mini-Aussies. Joan loves her dogs (and all animals!) and assists in a foster dog program whenever possible.

OLIVE BEAR

My name is Olive Bear. I am a rescue pup with a tender heart.  My parents adopted me when I was just a wee lass.  I am an only child and am perfectly happy with that.  I support Mom with daily, difficult office tasks and welcome Dad home every day with the upmost enthusiasm, knowing I will get my favorite treats.  My parents always bring me on vacation whether to the Gulf Coast for some beach time or to my parents favorite mountain cabin spot. Hobbies: Playing in the snow, Eating Mom’s socks, Barking at any person that dares to walk in front of my house and seeing all of my office mommies!

The foundation of the firm is a unique formula that focuses equally on the technical side of design and the highly specialized design details that delivers advanced design results. The team at JLS Designs are experts in preparing permit drawings for city submittals, researching local/state code review, consulting on ADA design and specifications. They are passionate about assisting their clients with their vision, building concepts into functional, constructable, and detail-oriented designs. 

I want you to know how grateful we are for your support and help during our renovation process! We can confidently say that we *love* the new layout and function of our living space. Most nights as I do dishes, I think about how much happier I am being able to participate in whatever the family is doing while my hands are in the sink instead of feeling as though I’m locked an isolated chore purgatory space.  We also love the overall look, colors, and feel of the rooms. Thank you for somehow getting into our heads and helping bring our hopes to life.
